Hi there! Derpy here! I brought you a letter!
By now, you've no doubt learned a lot of lessons about friendship. Nine years of friendship, magic and the wonderful world of Equestria. Today, I have something important to tell you.
Friendship is a journey. Every lesson is a stepping stone to a better life. There is strength in the balance that comes through the aspects of harmony. But harmony is not simple, nor it is easy. Friendship is an embrace which must be renewed periodically to keep us all together.
There is no one lesson that is perfect. There is no one lesson that will give you all the answers. Every adventure has its valleys and high points. You may find that, at times, the lessons don't feel like they're enough. I understand. Here's the thing: Today, you're reading a letter because your adventure has brought you here.
Every day is a second chance. The sun always rises on a new you. With this new sense of opportunity, I want to help you think about something. There are many times throughout these past years where you no doubt considered the values of friendship, honesty, loyalty, laughter, kindness, generosity...and forgiveness. For others and yourself. You may look through the portal into our world and think of simplicity, but I look back into your world and see possibility. You don't have to be perfect. You just have to be willing to try again.
You are a person who matters.
Read that again. You matter. You've always mattered. You will always matter. To yourself. To others. To people you've yet to meet.
There is a future out there that needs you. Friends you still need to meet. Joys you've still yet to experience. You can create for others and introduce them to worlds even more wondrous than Equestria. These new worlds start with you. And I can't wait to see them. <3
Friendship is not a simple word. It is powerful. It is challenging. But it's worth fighting for. Somewhere out there is your future.
My friends and I will be here, staring through our portals, as we look forward to see what kind of magic you can create. You can always see what we're up to, just to remind you that no matter where you are or what you do, there is beauty in the magic of friendship.
