Happy New Year's Day!!!

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a happy start to your morning! This day officially marks the Old Year of 2023 and begins the New Year of 2024! I have to say this year was more or less eventful for me. From quitting my job of nearly two years to head off to university to adapting to university life away from my old home. It hasn't been easy and there were plenty of hurdles, but I came out alright enough at the end of this year. I don't know how 2024 will be for me but I feel that I will be just fine - even with whatever shit comes my way. With that out of the way, I feel like sharing what my plans are for 2024 relating to my life and hobbies.

For starters, I plan to become more committed to my college life - especially in the academic area. I did relatively well in my first semester, but I feel old habits came back to me near the end. Luckily, it didn't affect me to the point where I would fail my classes, but it did have a hold on me at some points. This year, I plan to become more committed to studies, especially since I'm taking classes more... complicated than the last. I know I'm gonna have my moments, and urges to give up will certainly be there, but I've come way too far to just throw in the towel now. Especially given the profession I'm aiming to achieve.

Secondly, I'm going to be going out of my way to make more compelling and complex stories - mainly fantasy - within the mlp universe. Looking back on the day I made my first story, I can say I made significant improvement over the years. May key factors help in this - trying different genres, reading others' stories, watching certain shows and and reading specific books. I even took the liberty taking a writing class back at my last college and watching videos related to writing advice, despite disagreeing with some of it. One problem I felt contributed to my writing delay was sticking to making big stories and not making simpler ones too. Something I feel has is being fixed since I decided to add One-Shots into the mix. It's a work in progress, but I hanging in there! I just hope that with my improvments, the quality of my stories will be on par with what I'm shaping them up to be.

Lastly, I'm aiming to... well, expand my knowledge on things outright of my usual route. For the longest time, I stuck with learning this that were in my lines of interest and what grabbed by attention most. I guess with the new year and the fact that I more or less began doing this - mainly to improve my writing - I decided to was time for a change. Maybe I could start with history and learning more about the world from cultures and traditions, to deities and go on from there so I can know more about the world. I mean, I kind of have been doing that for my stories so I might as well continue for my own personal desire if not for that one. Maybe in the distant future, I can pick up on a new language or two, though I doubt that will go as easy as my other goals. I can't know if I don't try though, so I might as well give it one.
