Hey folks! MagicalPony2099 here!
Well... I got a new story idea for a new displaced story that I want to write. It's like this...
The MC goes to a con as his EAW character, a Griffon-Changeling hybrid named Hu Clawson that's a King of the Changeling Republic after what the Griffon Revolution did to the previous king of the Changeling Republic in 1008. He then met with The Merchant and bought the gun that his EAW character had and got sent to Equestria as his game character. With all of his knowledge he had for his game character and how far he gotten in the EAW mod for his character, he'll try to change the course of history of the Equestria he was sent to as King Hu Clawson.

You can correct me at the names of the territories for both Griffon and Changeling in these comments.
I'd go a different direction if I were you, alot of people don't the whole 'go to comic con, meet merchant, be displaced', it makes them think you'll copying others.

You know what I meant though, I still suggest you try a more original starting point if you can, like mc bought or found their item from somewhere else. It can still be the Merchant who told it but going by a different appearance, like they're being smart on Displacing people without anyone catching on. I understand if you still want to go with the 'go to con, buy from merchant' direction, I'm just trying to help is all.

Maybe like at a con in VR Chat that somehow The Merchant wasn't on the list for a vender hall attendee that only the MC could only see and nobody else. That would be weird if anyone saw this one avatar in a spot where there's nothing there at all.

...ok, that could lead to total confusion for the MC, guys just in VR with an avatar they finished, they buy something from a vender, like an item for their VR room or something, get displaced, and they'll think they're still in VR but when they go to remove their VR or notice extra senses not natural for VR, they freak out wondering how the hell that even happened.

Not only that but this is the first time i've seen a story where someone is Displaced while they're in VR and they don't notice the transition.

I edited my comment that they don't own a vr headset. The MC was just playing VR Chat with mouse and keyboard as well as wearing a gaming headset. Like a MPOW gaming headset that you can get one online at Walmart. The computer he's using, is a gaming one that his parents got him for Christmas 5 years ago in 2024. The computer he's using has a 10 TB Harddrive, 32 GB of Ram, and the latest processing graphics card that can powered that kind of gaming computer.
This story takes place in the year 2029 where VR Chat is still available on Steam.
