Christmas greetings, the apocalypse and a small hiatus. Not necessarily in that order.

Greetings everypony!

I decided to move my blog here instead of Blogger because I visit Fimfiction a LOT more than Blogger, thus making it easier for me to update this thing. Maybe here I'll be able to keep the posts more regular, and it might in turn give me some extra motivation to write.

It's apocalypse tomorrow! Yay! Is anyone else as excited as I am to see what will be the way our sad little species comes to its end? Just kidding though :P I don't really believe that anything of that scale will happen tomorrow. Now, I'm not saying that absolutely nothing out of the ordinary will happen. Heck, I hope something will. Something to break this little bubble of ours. In my opinion, humankind needs something to happen, we need to have our eyes opened for us. I'm not exactly sure what I mean by that, but I know that humankind cannot survive for long if we continue walking around this globe we call home as we have so far. We need change. I just hope it'll be for the better.

As for the apocalypse, I remember reading somewhere that one of the mayan prophecies this whole thing is based on actually doesn't say that the world is going to end. Instead it says, that the humankind will not die, but ascend to the next level of existence. What this means, I have no idea, but me and a friend of mine have a theory. Now, I know this is silly, improbable and downright crazy, but it doesn't hurt to think about different scenarios, right? Okay, so we came up with this theory, of how the next level of existence will be a stage of mind, where no-one wants war or conflict but instead peace and harmony between people. Instead of several countries, there would be one government with a kind and wise ruler. Sound familiar? I thought it would :D our ideal peaceful world would of course be Equestria. In Equestria everyone seems happy, and life seems a lot easier than here. So what if what happens tomorrow will be a worldwide unconsciousness after which everyone will be transported into a new planet, turned into ponies and have their minds wiped of all memories as human? Sound crazy? I think so too! But if I had to choose between this and a huge meteor blowing up Earth, I'd definitely go for ponies. How about you? :P

So. To get to the main point of my post. I've had a shitload of schoolwork to do lately, and unfortunately this will not be changing in the near future. I still have about one and a half month of high school left after christmas holidays. After that, I have my final exams. Even though the last stretch of school isn't that busy schoolwise, I have lots of extra-curricular things to do. This includes the planning and implementation of the last day in school, when we have a party of sorts. In short, this means that I will have very little time to concentrate on my writing. This is one of the two reasons I will be having a short hiatus, lasting most likely until the end of February.

The second of the two reasons for the hiatus is the fact that my writing style is not suitable for the kind of story I want "In My Dreams" to be. So far I've been publishing chapters as soon as I've finished them, giving the chapters an absolute minimum of proof reading and fixing of mistakes. This will not be working in the future, as I want the story to be as good as I can possibly manage. My old style only brought pressure on myself, making me constantly worry about my next "deadline" which in turn made me miss that said deadline.

Well I have had enough of that, and so, I will be having a hiatus, and there is nothing that could change my mind. I sincerely apologise to all of my readers and followers for having to do this. I just know that this is the right thing to do to make the story as good as I can for you to read. You are the people I'm writing this story for, and You are the reason I will eventually return to give you what I hope has this far been an enjoyable read. So thank you all for your interest in my story.

During my hiatus I will still be writing the story, but I will do it without the stress of having a deadline for publishing. I hope this will break the block I've had for the last few weeks. I'm hoping to write a buffer of about ten or so chapters so that when I get back to publishing, I won't be in such a hurry. Once again, apologies, and I hope you understand my case. I will keep you updated on my progress so that you will have some warning before I start updating again.
