My Top 5 Favorite and Least Favorite Characters · 5:35am Sep 25th, 2023
Hello everyone, I want to first say that I'm sorry for not posting for a while. I've been busy with school and work so I haven't had the time to post lately. However, I should hopefully be able to have some time sometime this week to post a chapter or two. I don't want to keep you waiting though so I thought why not tell you all about my favorite and least favorite characters in MLP and MLP EG. I want to first say that when I say least favorite I don't mean I hate these characters, I just don't like them. If you don't agree with my choices then that's fine but please don't hassle me for liking or disliking a character you like/hate. Feel free to tell me your favorite and least favorite characters in the comments, I would love to who you all like and don't like. So, without further ado, let's go!
Least Favorite: 5. The Shadowbolts (My Little Pony Equestria Girls) Besides from Sunny Flare, all the other girls weren't that interesting or had very bland personalities. Sugarcoat I couldn't stand her and found her annoying. Now yes I will give props for her name and how she quite literally doesn't sugarcoat things and says them how they are but I still didn't like her. Lemon Zest was alright but I would've liked to know more about her character because I think she had a lot of potential. Indigo Zap was a worse Rainbow in my opinion and I didn't like her one bit. And Sour Sweet with her whole mood changes from being nice (Sweet) to mean (Sour) really went with her name which I thought was cool. But like Lemon Zest I would've liked to know more with her character. And Sunny Flare I thought she was the best/most liked between the five of them. They are ranked 5th because they all were good/okay but a lot of it is because they could've had more potential and could have been better. The fanfictions people make about them are amazing in my opinion too. 
Favorite: 5. Applejack (MLP and MLP EG) Now although she was said from my people that she was the least favorite of the Mane 6 but I personally would say she was my favorite. She was an amazing character in the show and movies and I personally loved the accent and her voice actor. I loved the honesty thing and being a farmgirl who liked apples. When I was younger I had a crush on her too so I think that's what makes her ranked on my favorite characters. However what makes her 5th is that most episodes were repeated. Oh she lied when her whole thing is "element of honesty" not very honest of you AJ. 
Least Favorite: 4. Twilight (MLP EG) Now before anyone gets mad I want to first say that I loved the Twilight in the show, but the nerd Twilight in the movies, not so much. I found her very annoying and it kinda make a bad example on the shows Twilight to me. I liked her story from being bullied and singled out from all the kids from Crystal Prep and how this Twilight turned evil, and the Friendship Games movie is my second favorite of the EG movies. Now even though I didn't like this Twilight, but I don't like her nowhere near as the others. She ranked 4th mostly because of how bad she was but her show counterpart was so good. 
Favorite: 4. Fluttershy (MLP and MLP EG) Fluttershy in general is just a sweet and shy that I don't see how anyone could hate her. She by far was my favorite of the Mane 6 and I always liked her cute moments where she was either shy or stood her ground. Mostly every episode where the theme was revolved around her I liked as well. She ranked 4th however because again, like AJ, her episodes were the same plot. Oh she's shy or scared and then she finds the courage and stands up to whatever the challenge is. But her cuteness is enough to make me like her. 
Least Favorite: 3. Rarity (MLP) Oh boy, miss drama queen herself. Annoying. She was normally always crying and even though she was known to be the element of generosity she was more selfish than anything. Every episode that she was revolved about weren't good besides maybe one or two. Now I like how she made dresses and I loved her accent. However she left her friends on multiple occasions to be with more "upperclass" ponies. Now there were times she was nice and really cool but she was more annoying and a crybaby/selfish than most times.
Favorite: 3. Trixie (MLP EG) In the movies, especially in Forgotten Friendship where she helped Sunset that's what made me like her. The whole magician act was real cool as well. Now although some people though she was annoying and a narcissist, I saw her as something else, someone others didn't. I saw her as someone who was trying to be confident but was really hurt on the inside. Perhaps I got that from the fanfictions I've read about her but I think she was a really cool character. And the "Great and Powerful Trixie" was really cool too. However, I will admit at times her motto was over said and I will admit she did do some messed up things to some people but I still found her an enjoyable character to watch.
Least Favorite: 2. Rainbow Dash (MLP) Just like with the Twilight situation but opposite. Rainbow in the movies was cool and her being the lead singer/guitarist was pretty amazing. However, in the show she was just terrible. In my opinion one of, if not, the worst Mane 6 member and character thoughout the whole show. She acted cool all the time but in reality she wasn't, she was rude and always made rude comments to the other Mane 6. She had fights with Rarity, AJ, Twilight, hurt Fluttershy one too many times (cough, that one episodes where she traded her best friend, like what?). She was a main reason why there were so many problems and why some problems were caused. She was egotistical and besides from the Sonic Rainboom episode, I wasn't fond of her character. She ranked 2nd because I find someone else worse than her and like I said, the EG version of her I found better and super enjoyable to watch.
Favorite: 2. Sonata (MLP EG) I love this girl, her personality is amazing. She's what I would say a better Pinkie Pie. Her obsession for tacos is funny, and her adorable cuteness is amazing. She's my favorite Dazzlings member and from her blue skin (my favorite color) and her ponytail and outfit which I like was amazing. It was a hard choice but between her and someone else she sadly was the second favorite character. However, what made her 2nd was because she was only shown two times, Rainbow Rocks and for a few minutes in Sunset's Backstage Pass. If there was more screen time as her she could've been number 1 but sadly I had to put her 2nd because of this exact reason. Now as much as I love this girl, I like another character a bit more than her.
Least Favorite: 1. Pinkie (MLP) Oh boy, I can already see the comments about to kill me. But yes, Pinkie Pie is my least favorite character. She's annoying, just plain and simple. I've never liked her character and I can't believe her voice actor shares both Pinkie and Fluttershy. She was over hyper and that episode where she broke because her friends were throwing her a surprise birthday was beyond creepy and it scared me as a child. Her voice is annoying, her always jumping around was too much, however, the pulling things out her hair and where she knew what happened because of her "Pinkie senses" were funny but that's about it. I know I'm going to get hate for this but she was the worst Mane 6 member, sorry to say that but she was, at least to me.
Favorite: 1. Sunset (MLP EG) The best character hands down. Sunset Shimmer's whole story and character development was incredible! She was amazing in all the movies, from Equestria Girls to Camp Everfree every movie with her character was nice. In the first movie she was this mean and rude tyrant who controlled the school under her hand but was hurting in the inside. Then in the second movie she was the hero and showed everyone how much she changed. In the third she once again was the hero and helped Twilight learn her way and in the fourth she helped Twilight when she was having a hard time geting past the things that happened at the Friendship Games. Forgotten Friendship too showed us how much Sunset had grown and how much her friends mean to her. Sunset by far is my favorite character and between her and Sonata it really was a close tie with how much I love them both but in the end Sunset took it.
