For everyone who knows how to cook and those who rely on someone else to cook for them, it is very important to remember that if someone improperly stores food for too long, it can be really dangerous.
Just this morning, my mom sent me this article about a 20-year-old man found dead on his bed after eating reheated pasta that was cooked five days prior. According to the report, he suffered “from a headache, stomach pains and nausea, and eventually experienced diarrhoea and vomiting.”
He tried to sleep off the pain and fell asleep around midnight. Then in the morning, his parents tried to wake him up but he was unresponsive. It was later revealed he died from moderate centrilobular liver necrosis which caused his organs to shut down.
This is scary stuff right here, folks. Very sobering and serious. I try to make sure that the food I cook is eaten within three days; if three days pass and the food is still in the refrigerator, I throw that shit away right into the garbage.
So please, guys, if you have food that is spoiled, has been left sitting outside for a long time, or anything like that, please don’t eat that and throw it away. Make something new instead. It’s very important to maintain your own health and the health of everyone else around you.
Also, keep the room temperature in mind because that can play a role in developing bacteria especially if reheated foods aren’t stored correctly. In very rare cases, it can be fatal.
Just wanted to post this in case some of you may not be aware of how serious this is.
