Ranking all FIM Episodes: Mounds of Mediocrity · 10:17am Sep 4th, 2023
We've managed to climb our way past the very worst garbage FIM has to offer. Unfortunately, no amount of Febreeze protection, nor sanitation devices can save us from the dreaded...mounds of mediocrity! (DUN-DUN-DUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!) Anyway, these are the episodes that are miles off of where they should be, but there are one or two positive qualities poking through the undeniable rubble. Let's begin.
#209: Uprooted
The Young Six come to blows over how to best memorialize the Tree of Harmony. Shenanigans ensue before the painfully inevitable lesson rears its ugly head. Also, songs are sung and a treehouse is built.
#208: Friendship University
Everyone's favorite legitimate capitalists turned scammers, Flim and Flam, return with another scheme to try and dupe everypony out of their hard earned bits. Only, this time, the scheme is unknowingly endorsed by Star Swirl. Oh, and Twilight wears an eyepatch while the fandom rejoices.
#207: Grannies Gone Wild
A bunch of pony centenarians and geriatrics head for fun and sun in Las Pegasus. Rainbow Dash acts as their chaperone. There just aren't enough shenanigans in this one to keep it interesting.
#206: Yakity-Sax
Pink ponky pony peruses Ponyville while performing a plethora of poorly played pieces. Alliteration is fun! This episode is not.
#205: Keep Calm and Flutter On
Discord needed reformation like a dog needs fleas in its fur. Also, Fluttershy and friends take the viewer through a magical world of snoring...and snoozing...and just overall blandness.
#204: A Friend in Deed
Previously mentioned pink ponky pony attempts to make friends with a curmudgeonly cranky quadruped. She fails miserably, as does this episode. On the upside, we got The Smile Song!
