2023 update: been a while · 6:35am Sep 1st, 2023
Hello all, is the dead but not dead but still dead author who makes a post or an update once every couple of years and then dips, back at it again.
To put it bluntly: most of my writing spark is gone. I am an idea factory, constantly discussing ideas or scenarios with friends, but when it comes to actually writing I just cannot get more than a few sentences in before something entertaining catches my attention. That being said, I am trying to work on the next Piraka don’t play fair chapter. To be honest, that’s the only one that still feels fun to write. I had huge plans for it as well, but… motivation to do anything proactive has been dwindling from my body for a while now.
Warriors of Chaos has become a bloated mess that I cannot bring myself to face. Not to mention my co writer is also in a similar predicament as I am, we wrote stuff for it but then had to delete nearly all of it due to it feeling out of place, pacing wise and that was basically the end of it. We tried so hard to create some vivid world with interesting plots, consistent scheming, and basically tried to replicate the glory of the Ahriman series, but it was like grasping at the sun to take it out of the sky.
If the Emperor was in Equestria was a gag story that I made mostly for the fun of it, but when people suddenly flooded over it I tried to make it something more. At the time I was also trying to write for multiple stories, and trying to make a plot out of nothing while trying to make it funny was an overall exhausting process.
Celestia’s Raven, and the two stories that were tied to it, was a ridiculously lofty goal between my and my friend. We wanted to try a multi-story battle Royale across Equestria, with stories representing the PoV of different characters. We really should not have tried this. Writing for 3 stories is rough. If I ever can get myself to write again, I may try to revisit it. Focus pretty much entirely on Gabriel, and go from there.
I’ve also taken some distance from MLP in general. Ponies are cool, but nothing from the new stuff has really drawn me back in. And ponies are especially hard to write for. You need to have an entire new vocabulary for them that’s entirely separate from the main character’s. And then there’s a bunch of other things.
So yeah. I will try to continue writing Piraka Don’t Play Fair, but I won’t be dumb and actually promise anything.
I hope you all are doing well.
Glad to hear you're doing all right.
It's a shame that you're no longer going to continue the story of Warriors of Chaos, since I admit that I had high expectations for that story. Dammit, I was even looking forward to seeing Chaos Ponies and seeing Twilight become a Daemon Princess of Tzeentch.
