Why I view it as a missed opportunity · 2:45pm Aug 30th, 2023
I know that some of you probably know right now that every now and then I express my love for Megan Williams and still feel why I feel that G4 missed an opportunity of not having her in the show. Some of you have considered me to be obsessed for even expressing that view. However, I'm not on that 24-7. Even though it didn't happen, I didn't go kicking and screaming over it. All I did was feel that it was something that could have happened but didn't. Personally, I felt that giving a revival to her and her siblings Danny and Molly would have probably been a better idea for G4 rather than Equestria Girls in giving back human companionship while letting the ponies stay ponies. Another thing is that I would never put MLP in front of Equestria Girls especially when they aren't ponies to begin with. Also, I would rather leave the humanization of the ponies to the fans, because I felt that the fanart humanization looked more realistic especially when they were shown with the skin tones that we have in real life rather than making much their fur in the show. Nevertheless, the recent fanfics that I made does give the idea of what it would have been like if it was to actually happen. More importantly, don't relate me to someone like Mixmaster226, because I'm not that extreme in wanting Hasbro to go back and redo G4 so that the Williams siblings do appear in it. However, I do hope that later generations will revive them even though I did feel that G4 was sort of ideal for having them back even if rebooted and maybe even G5 in that matter. Perhaps, they could do a generation where the ponies come to our world and that would be a perfect opportunity to have them in it especially when it comes to helping them keep a low profile while going after the villains, they face sort of like most Transformers series. Meanwhile, my avatar will always have the relationship that never was.
Maybe if Hasbro decides to make G6, they could bring back the Williams siblings as part of the main cast, along with using deleted ideas and concepts that didn’t make it into G1-G5.

Sometimes I could never understand why there were no plans to bring back human companions to this franchise especially when it was done when it was first launched. My guess is that it was mainly because it was just to get everyone used to it when it was something new. After that, I take it Hasbro saw no other reason to do this with other generations now that it became known. In other words, Megan was supposed to go down with the ship when it ended. If not for all the fanart and fanfics with her in them, she would have been long dead and possibly forgotten. I will still never forget the day I was bored and typed her name into the search engine and stumbled onto fanart that not only showed Megan with characters from the generation that she was in, but also with G4 characters despite not being on the show itself. Seeing that really made me think why she wasn't placed in the show. Then again, I never get answer whenever I asked what the main reason was to why it didn't happen. The least that could have been done was give her an actual appearance in that generation comic series, because I even bought all the copies in believing that it was finally going to happen, but it was once again too good to be true, because the only appearance for her was being mentioned in a flashback and nothing else.
In retrospect, I believe it’d make the most sense for Megan to be the lead character of a G6 series. That way, things could start fresh.

That was the case when it was done in G1 with having her appear in Rescue in Midnight Castle. After that she pretty much became the face for G1. However, Megan was more of a major character rather than a main character. I say this because there was a handful of episodes in MLP 'n Friends that she didn't appear in. Unfortunately, I don't know if she was going to make any further appearances after The Golden Horseshoes, because they did some episodes after where she wasn't in them, but then the show was stopped afterwards. Seeing that MLP:FiM did bring back a lot of adventure episodes, it did sort of feel ideal to bring a character such as her back. However, I also felt that maybe there could have been some slice of life episodes with her in them which was hardly the case back in G1. When I did Unexpected Arrival, it takes place after the first Equestria Girls movie and even ties it in as Twilight mentions to Megan that she sort of reminded her of something when she crossed that mirror portal. Nonetheless, I would be happy if a generation in the near future does revive her, but something tells me it will most likely never happen as if the franchise no longer sees a reason to have human companions back in there.

There's probably more of a chance of seeing Hamas renounce terrorism and accept Israel as a Jewish state before there will be a reboot of Megan and even her siblings into MLP knowing what's going on.
