Meet Helios Dawn

This is my second OC, who is the son of Princess Celestia. He is quite an adventurous colt (who’s about 10 years of age).

I personally like to thank Climaclysm for creating this art piece for me, it means a lot to have such incredible and talented artists out there.

So 10 years before the beginning of Season One Celestia would meet an alicorn prince named Aether, who hails from a far distant land. The two would eventually start a relationship and marry each other. Celestia would soon become pregnant with Helios, but before the colt could be born Aether had to travel away from Equestria to fight off a major threat back at his homeland. Obviously Celestia wanted to come along to help her husband but Aether had to convince her to stay back to keep both her kingdom and their foal safe, with him not wanting his wife and child to be endangered in whatever circumstances may lay ahead.

So with Aether gone Celestia would have to raise Helios all on her own as she would not hear from her husband since he went back to his home to fight this unknown threat. The day Helios was born was a joyful day across Equestria as many ponies saw the young prince would one day lead their nation to great prosperity.

Now Helios Dawn is a quite adventurous colt, often wanting to explore everything around him and sometimes getting into mischief, much like his mother during her younger years. His love for adventure is symbolised by his cutie mark, which is a golden compass with outward pointing sun rays. He is very friendly and outgoing and easy to make friends with. Apart from adventure he also has favourite hobbies like reading, buckball, wildlife study and photography. Though he also has a bit of a temper if you press all the wrong buttons and results can be quite “explosive”.

He has great relationships with those who knows. Twilight is like a big sister figure to him while Spike is the twin brother. Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Rainbow Dash are like surrogate aunts to him. Cadance has high regards for her little cousin and loves him dearly. Luna, after she was freed from Nightmare Moon’s influence, would have an instant bond with her nephew, often tagging along with him and her sister on fun activities and playing along with him. Luna would sort of develop this overprotective instinct over Helios, which sometimes annoys him, but the two genuinely love each other and would always be there for one another.
