Potential alternate storyline of Friendship is Magic manga by mauroz.

Plots Points:
- This will be the exact same story as the manga, but it will be mostly from Spike's POV instead.
- Spike will have a journal that he writes in every night in this version of the story.

Story Summary:
Spike begins noticing that he gets pushed around a lot from his friends and family. At first, he thinks it's not a big deal and tries to forget about it but it becomes increasingly difficult to ignore their actions. Although Spike does express his discomfort and unhappiness to them, what they can’t see is that they’re also causing emotional harm to him as well. He starts feeling unappreciated and unimportant. “Maybe I’m not really their friend, I’m their favorite punching bag. They definitely seem to enjoy making me miserable. You don’t hurt someone you care about.” he thinks to himself. As time goes by Spike develops a feeling of emptiness and anger that grows each time he feels like he’s being bullied by them. Eventually, his emotional limit is reached and he decides to run away from home. He knows it’s a bad idea but he’s very angry and confused. It doesn’t take long for the others to notice that Spike is missing and immediately begin a search for him. Twilight and the others try to find any clues as to why he would run away or where he would go. That’s when they come across his journal and begin reading it. It’s here that they realize that Spike was very unhappy with them. They never really took time to think about his feelings or his thoughts nor did they ever consider the consequences of their actions. They want to apologize to him but unfortunately they’re too late, Spike’s already gone.

- At this point, the story can go in 1 of multiple directions. This list of ideas for the story is sorted from least negative outcome(A) to most negative outcome(E).

A) Nobility – Spike figures out a way to survive on his own. Once in a while, he does think about returning home but he always decides not to do so. That is until he heard some very bad news back home. Twilight and the others lost the battle against a new enemy and have been taken hostage. While captive they talk about the possibility that Spike might come rescue them. However, they agree that they wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t. Although he’s still angry at everyone, Spike decides to put his anger aside and do the right thing and go save them.

B) Empathy - Spike walks aimlessly and begins worrying about what he needs to do next. He's got nowhere to go or knows anyone who can help him. He comes across another runaway around his age named Thorax. The 2 of them get acquainted and shortly after, they meet yet another runaway, a girl named Gabriella (Gabby). The 3 of them share their reasons for running away from home. Thorax did not like how selfish his community was. They stole from others frequently. Gabby did not like how unwilling her neighbors were at developing a bond with someone else. Spike didn’t like how his friends and family kept bullying him. Spike, Thorax and Gabby decide to stick together.

C) Betrayal - Spike willingly joins The Carriers of Sin or offers to help them.

D) Blank - Spike makes a suicide attempt by jumping off the bridge into the river. However, by some miracle, he survives and wakes up miles downstream. Spike has amnesia because of a head injury caused by a rock at the bottom of the river when he jumped off the bridge coupled with being without oxygen for a minute while he was unconscious underwater. He doesn't know where he is, he can’t remember what he was doing, he can't remember anyone's face or name and worst of all, he can't even remember his own name. Fortunately for him, he meets someone who's willing to help him.

E) Punishment – It’s been a few years since Spike ran away from home. Twilight and the others wonder if they will ever see him again or if he’s still alive. All this time they’ve been doing a good job fighting against evil and protecting their home and sometimes the CMCs will assist them in the fight. However, a new adversary in a disguise has shown up and attacks them. This new enemy is very strong and very fast. They put up a very good fight considering it’s 1 vs. 9 until the Carriers and the CMCs gain the upper hand. Their foe tells them that they’ve been holding back this whole time. They transform in front of everyone which ends up revealing that the attacker was Spike. He trained himself to learn how to control his maximum power and he has returned home for vengeance. Instead of being their strongest ally, Spike instead became their deadliest enemy.
