I am officially canceling my Fallout Equestria fic. · 6:19am Jul 20th, 2023
As the title states, I've decided to cancel my other Fallout: Equestria story permanently. As I've realized, I unintentionally made the main protagonist a solution to every problem Littlepip has down the line with the way my story was planned. And I hated that when I realized it. Hell, I even had is pretty much brother upload himself into the SPP instead of littlepip doing it since he was going to die from corrupted and overflowing data since he couldn't back up his memory reserves into a hard drive that was in his home dimension. Which is a crater, so it wasn't there anyway. I feel as though my original thought of this story was very childish and selfish. Creating a Protagonist to take the brunt of the physical and mental damage for Littlepip and solve her problems for her so she has a happy ending with Homage because I felt like she deserved a better happy ending. Of course, I guarantee that would upset a LOT of people, and that includes myself when I think about it.
Not to mention I've been just straight-up uninterested and unmotivated to continue it for very obvious reasons.
Littlepips story grabs your heartstrings like it does because it actually gives a character a realistic personality, and you like them for it. it then proceeds to kick you in the gonads with issues that she barely solves sometimes, sacrificing parts of herself along the way. And in the end you want them to have a happy ending, but instead, give her happy ending up so the world around them has a second chance. The ultimate sacrifice.
I feel if I continued and finished the story. It would end up being more of a disrespect to Kkat and her universe and story that she built from the bottom up and touched so many. Instead of being a neat little spin-off like project horizons or Operation Star drop (which I recommend wholeheartedly since I'm still reading it.)
Will I touch the Fallout Equestria side of the fandom? Yes, mainly reading. Will I write about it? Probably not, since it would probably be the same issue as this one. But I will say I've started a fresh approach with the same two main characters in my other story, and that seems to be doingquite well; lots of good feedback as well.
So yeah, that's where I'm at right now.
