Some G5 slander · 9:56pm Jun 11th, 2023
So I have just seen the G5 scene snippet in Make Your Mark episode ‘Sunny Side Up’ and my blood is boiling, not only does it go against the whole G4 first episode lore but it goes against how I view Celestia and Luna. As my memory is correct Luna wasn't a very liked royal whereas this episode is saying different Opalines exact words are “They were the golden ponies, they were the favourites, everyone likes them” but in the first episode of MLP G4 in the opening it was narrated “the younger sister became resentful. The ponies relished and played in the day her elder sister brought forth, but shunned and slept through her beautiful night.”
This just proves my opinion of G5, it's messy and irrelevant. I maybe couldve enjoyed it if it didn't just base itself on G4 as they clearly had no other sensible idea to make a profit (my only exception would be following Twilight as ruler and Luster in finding friendship) but they couldn't even think of that. Personally I haven't watched the full G5 as I cant bring Myself to do it. G4 will always be in my heart and G5 is just it's lower budget double like cmon the main characters are basically the mane 6 minus the good parts of their personality. Like tell me that Izzy isn't based off Pinkie. Pinkie will never be replaced!
Back to the subject at hand. I think bringing Luna and Celestia into the G5 mix was just unnecessary. I think one of them would've at least mentioned briefly Opalines exisitance as they always referred to as being the only alicorns in ‘the early year's of Equestria’ even during the book narration in the first episode it only said there was two alicorns in Equestria you think they wouldve mentioned it another existed. Even so, they may have been young but I still do not like how they wrote them as it made them out to be bad guys and they honestly aren't, they were made out to be the reason Opaline wanted power and destroyed he harmony that Twilight had hept for YEARS. This recent episode has made me dislike G5 even more than I couldve ever thought. Justice for Luna and Celestia!
Movie Izzy is the only reason I gave G5 a chance. Her tada is amazing there. You are right. She is just Pinkie reincarnated lol. Pretty much agree with everything here.
It's such a shame.
G5 should've been so much more.
Oh and Tia and Luna will never get justice from show writers.

Amen brother. Preach. G5 is just not good. Like you, I will have no other desire for any future generation unless mlp continues directly where it left off in G4: with Twilight on the throne, and Luster Dawn as her student. Although I don’t consider books or comics canon to G4 show, it seems both variants share that consistency that Celestia and Luna were the only two Alicorns for a LONG time. Then came Cadance—whom was a unicorn(check season 2 episode 24 lines carefully during flashback scene). And finally Twilight and Flurry Heart.
