Right Hip Replacement · 7:30pm May 6th, 2023
On Monday I am getting a hip replacement for my right side. Not really ready for this, yet the situation is a long time coming. Have a few more preps before hand and I'll be the first operation for the doctor that day. Am not feeling confident about any of this. Either way time is short.
If you know you're not ready, know that will never be, then just do it because it has to be done, and because bugger it all.

Yup. You go into such procedures because you want to walk correctly in a few months time, not because you're thrilled at the thought of a team of surgeons digging into your flank to then use power tools to graft your bones with titanium and ceramics.
And well, considering that you'll be into plenty of physiotherapy, you'll get plenty of chances to reply "not really, but let's do it" whenever the therapists ask you if you're ready for your next exercise.
I don't wish you good luck going forward, dude: I wish you grit and a healthy sense of humour, because physiotherapy sucks arse, but it does make you better.
