Also, where Disney is concerned, I don't think our "dear" Gov. DeSantis QUITE realizes you that where Disney (like 'em or not) is concerned, he's bitten off WAY more than he can chew.

Mainly because The Mouse more than likely has WAY deeper pockets than HE does.

“I am asking the Florida state legislature to introduce legislation to ban the performance of reverse minstrelsy anywhere that children might be present.”

The Governor then called upon the legislature to craft a companion bill that would require cartoon ducks to wear pants when around children, and stipulate that all cartoon chipmunks must live in separate trees, have girlfriends, and “stop being so fussy and polite.”

In a strong display of cross studio solidarity, a Mr. B. Bunny of Warner Brothers said, addressing Governor DeSantis, “Of course you know….this means war!"

And speaking of THAT one:

"Governor" DeSatanis (and that twit Carlson) have gotten their collective knickers in a twist because Mickey and Minnie are both BLACK.

Evidently these two "geniuses" don't understand the differences between real people and fictional characters.

Methinks they both need to go see a shrink or two to help them figure that one out.

The guy pushes and has passed legislation that targets marginalized groups, has forcibly displaced groups of people, uses his position as governor against his political opponents and free press. If you want to split hairs and say he's only a fascist and not really a nazi, I concede. But at this point that's a distinction without a difference.

I have a close friend who lives in Florida, so let's call her a primary source. And Desantis moving immigrants in buses to other states was a pretty public situation on itself. It's late on my end to run a media clipping, but I'm sure you can look up in google news.

Also, journalist's advice, centrist news sources usually are just conservative. Reporting on itself involves the reporter's perspective, and a media that refuses to acknowledge theirs is not being honest. What you need to look for are media who are upfront about their political perspective, and what sources do they quote directly.

I honestly think he'll use this. Something about mainstream media and culture war stuff. Frame himself as the underdog against a megacorp. Not so different from when he called himself "culturally working class", despite being a son of privilege who went to both Yale and Harvard. It's all about the performance, really.
