Update to "An Heir's Frailty" · 7:58am Feb 28th, 2023
A bit of a delayed update, but things are getting a little bit better. I got my Discord account back, and I hope the person who hacked me and others they got to got a heaping dose of karma. Thankfully, nothing else within my system was also stolen, especially passwords and certain credentials for certain things. The story is going to be a little bit on hiatus until I finally get motivated into writing more of it again. I have other stories on here that I've been working on and off with, and a couple of them have had more priority because of how long I had planned them compared to others. Especially "An Heir's Frailty" since that was all an idea fabricated by the one who requested it and I write it while contributing with new chapter ideas (including future chapters far beyond where the story's currently at, which is also part of the reason why my lack of inspiration hits me when those chapters are being thought of rather than what's supposed to be currently next).
Some of my friends who got hacked by that same hacker got their accounts back too, even the one who had lost theirs and the hacker using their profile tricked me. It makes me wary to even find other groups on Discord when there's going to be some degenerate who takes over someone's account and ransoms it for money when these accounts are meant to be free to make unless they buy Nitro, which only gives extra benefits for the messaging program like emotes, gifs, a higher limit of characters when writing messages, etc. Kind of glad I didn't have to forcefully pay the thief to get my account back, but my one friend who was devastated talked to the hacker using his account, and even showed me screenshots of their conversation involving that ransom, and how the hacker "needed it to give to a friend for a month for their birthday", which is a dumb excuse when said friend could make their own, for free, regardless, and they just want to make quick cash by stealing peoples' identities, online profiles or actual IDs.
I'll get back to writing the next chapter eventually, but it won't be very soon because of my other stories, work and destressing from the long nights I endure, and other things I'd like to do outside of writing so I don't get too burnt out from creating these stories to entertain, whether they become popular or not. I write to entertain others with my story ideas while also keeping with the site's guidelines to avoid any style of plagiarism (Two of my stories were based around Final Fantasy X and X-2 with the mlp cast as specific characters while following the games' stories, but where the first one thrived, the second was taken down after the second chapter, followed by the first because someone noticed and said it was plagiarism through novelization. I didn't realize that was plagiarism at all, even though the first one had gotten plenty of views and no one mentioned anything until the sequel just practically started.) I used to have a lot of free time to write back then with new chapters coming out within days or a week or two, but life makes it much harder to find enough free time without losing track of the stories I already have in production, and many more I plan on making, too.
Take your time and don't burn yourself out. You're still a writer even if you aren't active.
That's wonderful news. Hopefully whoever hacked you won't try to hack you again and I agree of you, they deserve a taste of bad karma.
