The "chaotic lesbian witches" trope is slowly but surely becoming a favorite as of recently · 5:40am Feb 5th, 2023

While Trixie!Starlight has grown on me since they first became friends in the series, the fact is that I've never been much into shipping. However, with Trixie being all the chaotic lesbian witch tropes, who could be her serious counterpart that becomes her gf?

I'm thinking Twilight. I know it's a cliché, but it's one that actually works.

Doesn't get much more serious than Luna if ya ask me.

Honestly
if we're going by this image in character typing, Sunset, Sugarcoat, or Twi(either)

I've never read a TrixieXLuna story. Or at least not one I can remember clearly right now. I do remember one where Trixie's family line used to be lovers of Luna before the whole "kill 'em all" thing, though. But it was more of a gag than an actual romance.

On a more serious note, I feel the age difference, and Luna being a ruler of a country raises some questions about the power differential. Not saying it can't be done. But I get the impression it's one of those concepts that either works very weel, or doesn't work at all.

I should really watch the Equestria Girls movies and serie. So far, I only have gone through the first two and the Forgotten Friendship special (because of Trixie). But from that list, and the fanfics I've read about Sunset, I feel those dynamics would be very different, YET, in both, Trixie would be the chaotic witch to Twilight or Sunset's serious one.

I can't say I've read one either, but a fair number of stores I've seen portray Luna as the iron fist of "Fucked around and about to find out." To Celestia's velvet glove of friendship so to speak.

I love that due to her first exposure to the fandom was through Nightmare Moon, and the second and most iconic one was all about being stuck in the literal Middle Ages, fanon!Luna has become the no-nonsense Princess.

Personally, I like to think them as Celestia being this living myth ruler, while Luna is more of an adventurer. Like kings Arthur and Beowulf.
