So, I'm getting close to my ten anniversary on the site... · 3:58am Jan 25th, 2023

I have nothing. I mean, ten years since I started writing, but also four since I stopped (not counting false starts and one-shots). Like, at this point I keep this account and blog mostly out of obstinacy rather than having anything too interesting to say.

I mean, I'm always opinionated. A socialist queer movie enthusiast and comics fan? Pff, give me a subject and I'm not letting you hear the end of it in an hour, minimum. And that's about the problem as of lately. I can't find a subject I'd like to talk about that may be interesting, or eye catching.

IDK.

Uh, have this character art from Crest of Z, that story I've been perpetually working on since 2018 (right before the current writer's block started).

(Yes, there's a lot of story behind these. Probably enough to fill 26 episodes, maybe 52 with filler arcs).

Happy 10th! I said it before, but cheers to your decade run!

And I know what you mean. S'how I feel most of the time too. Mostly since I can't call myself a fanatic about anything. I do not hold any media property or hobby in such high regard that I'd want to discuss it in length with anyone. For me though, I feel its just a lack of energy in general and less a product of feeling inadequate or niche about my hobbies. Not enough energy to put in the effort to socialize or otherwise. Getting old far too young, I s'pose.

The fan thing is something I've noticed too. Like, any new series or comic or even fanfic I don't read with the same obsession I used to when I was more active. And also for the same lack of energy. Like, nine hours of work a day plus transport really destroys one's time and disposition for creativeness. Either to engage with it or just admire it.

That's it exactly. There's a world of difference between a working adult and not. Whole industries try to capatalize on the little free time afforded to the working class. There's a powerful psychology that keeps us inundated in that work culture. Even now I'm desperately clawing against the grain to write my stuff, whether that's in my fifteen minute breaks, hour lunch, or off of work.

The struggle then becomes having the energy to keep the writing process going. I find I have to fight my exhaustion more than anything. Sleep and I don’t get along, no siree.

As for recreation... forget about it.

Look, I don't want to sound like an stereotype of a queer person, but if we burned capitalism to the ground, it would be totally poggers.
