Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with another movie review for tonight! This evening, I will be reviewing Warner Brothers' Happy Feet from 2006! This movie always stood out to me ever since I first watched it while growing up; even to this day, I still look upon it with high regard for its fun, charm, and beautiful imagery. Not only is this one of my favorite childhood animated films but it is also one of my favorite Robin Williams movies of all time. I mean, every time I watch any of his films, I get both emotional and happy. I love hearing his voice and watching him on the screen to fill my heart with joy and laughter. May the legend rest peacefully, and allow me to share my overall opinion on this wonderful piece of art.

This film is about a young emperor penguin named Mumble who has a tendency to dance with his feet. His entire tribe and own father try to force him to conform to the correct penguin style, but young Mumble just can't help it. His feet are too happy!

I don't know about you guys, but Mumble is just too cute in this film. I love his personality, the way he dances, and basically everything else about him. Even when he gets older, he still looks like I could cuddle him as my personal plushie. Penguins may be flightless, but they're still birds. You know how much I love birds...they are God's creatures who must be protected at all costs!!

Anyway, the computer animation is absolutely gorgeous. All the animals featured therein looked realistic and were awesome to watch as if I were watching a nature documentary. All the creatures expressed emotion and dialogue to convey what they are saying without acting too anthropomorphic. This is something that the Lion King remake severely lacked.

The voice acting was great too. Besides Robin Williams, Elijah Wood, Hugh Jackman, Hugo Weaving, Brittany Murphy, Nicole Kidman, and others were also fantastic in their respective roles.

The movie spoke to me on a personal level because it encourages me to continue following my dreams and never changing myself for other people. Always remember to be yourself and be around those who love you and accept you for who you are. If people discourage you from doing something that makes you you, don't listen to them. Also, being different isn't inherently a bad thing. It can actually be a good thing as long as you're happy and makes other people happy. We all have some unique aspects of our existence, and we should never be ashamed of having such qualities.

So yeah, the story was well-written and well-developed from start to finish. Mumble had a great character arc, and he is by far my favorite character in this movie. And I also liked how Memphis was developed in this film too; he deeply cared about his son, and he felt horrible for dropping him as an egg which would explain Mumble's "disability" if you will. He tried what he felt was the right thing to do, but it only served to drive Mumble away. So their reunion and reconciliation were worth watching and felt earned. Plus, having to learn from his son how to dance with happy feet at the end was the icing on top.

Oh, and Lovelace stole every scene he was in. The reasons are pretty much self-explanatory.

With that said, I will rate this a 10/10. I chose this rating because it's more out of personal bias; it isn't on par with some of the other favorites that I consider with much higher regard, but it's still a great movie. That's all.

Peace out, folks!

RIP Robin Williams and Steve Irwin.

I agree with you on this.

“Happy Feet” has been a personal favorite of mine since childhood, particularly because of its music and characters. The sequel was also very fun, if I may add.

I haven’t seen the sequel yet which is honestly surprising to me. Luckily, it’s on my list for January!

🙂Wonderful.

Have you seen the sequel to Blue Sky’s “Rio”, by any chance?

Nope. That’s for next year too.
