huh that was kinda an bit dark an shame he died
I wonder just how much that was rage accidental, and how much was layer after layer of planning and manipulation and if an investigation, examination had been carried out, that the guy was set up for medically unable to undergo interogation.
Well fuck... that escalated quickly, shit man...
Nicely done.
Just didn't know how to shut up, now he's dead.
Good for Luna, I'm proud
Wow that sure was a twist at the end. Certainly loving it.
7652255 Oh.

Maybe or just coincidence, I'll just leave it to your interpretation.

Even though I was wary of the high school drama and all the new alicorn children, this arc is turning out decent. Unfortunately, the pacing was shot to hell as soon as Miles met with the Gryphons the last time.
Since then, both the readers and Miles know that war is imminent. Not only that, we readers know how the first strike will play out from seeing the Gryphon war meeting along with a future battle in Ponyville thanks to Tempestus. But instead of war, we get chapter after chapter of pony and high school politics.
Don't get me wrong. I like seeing the political intrigue and would love to see DT get her comeuppance. But with war coming in weeks if not days, everything else now seems pointless, even if it eventually becomes important. Because we are waiting for the inevitable, this slice of life and what have you merely becomes filler.
So much main plot progress was made early on with the Gryphons finding allies and Miles discovering their plans and even fighting and dealing with the Kroth. But all of that tension is lost because now we are having to deal with so many sub plots. (The Apple audit. DT, Tempestus, super GGG, Miles being consumed by chaos, Blue blood, Filthy Rich, Fancy Pants and his boats, the Kroth patriarch etc, etc)
All of this would have made sense leading up to the discovery and declaration of war. But having it occur between war declaration and the actual first battle is incredibly and horribly anticlimatic.
That seems to be a common theme to this story. Good (sometimes great) ideas aren't elaborated on and instead are shoved aside for the next big sub plot. And with so many sub plots in play, significance is lost and eventual resolution loses its meaning.
Plots don't have to happen one at a time, but there needs to be an ebb and flow to both the number and importance of each plot line. And instead, this story tends to have more and more plot lines added until some deus ex Miles occurs which cuts them and everyone nearby to pieces.
Is the story entertaining? Sure. I wouldn't have read all the way through it if it wasn't. But it's also immensely unsatisfying. There are so many ideas and themes here that have untapped potential.
Holy crap, haven't read this fiction for years and your still going, props to you dude ^_^
