She wants to bring ponies into the modern world, but it's an uphill battle against years of technophobia and prejudice among the Canterlot bureaucrats. But then she learns of the untold advanced technology in the world of humans and sets off on the ultimate field trip. Canterlot High just got a new exchange student...

Celestia, Luna, Twilight, Cadance, the four supreme powers of the old world. Born to lead, they rouse their mighty armies to conquer all before them. The mountains will quake, the seas shall boil, the sky itself shall crack open, AND NONE, save perhaps the chaos god of poor connection speed, SHALL STAND IN THEIR WAY!! At least, until a dark and mysterious strategist comes to challenge their supremacy. . .

In a remote corner of the Solana Galaxy lies a backwater planet called Veldin. Nothing important ever happens there. Nothing exciting, either. Ratchet, a Lombax with no idea of his origins, is beginning to grow bored with his life, and dreams of excitement. He wishes on a falling star for some excitement to find its way into his life.

The falling star answers by crashing into his home in the form of a basket carrying a tiny creature with a horn, a pair of wings, and four hooves. The name on the basket reads "Twilight Sparkle".

While watching the 'television' with Applejack, the commercials fill the screen with their calls for horse owners, attracting them to visit the Horse Whisperer, a man who could talk to animals, and bridge a connection with horses.

However, when Applejack takes Twilight to her stable, where her horses run freely, a strange incident happens. She finds that, like the frauds on television, she can actually hear its whisper.

It wasn't the whisper she was expecting.
