I tried writing a story where Twilight is asked to write to a random pony and become pen pals with them, however I'm not magical with words (at least not on paper) so I was thinking I would post the idea here where, by a low chance, a good writer could come across it.

I'd like a story where the narrator is someone who can't move (like a stone statue (maybe a discord story) or someone lying in a hospital bed) and the only way they can learn about the world is through the various stories told by one or a few regular visitors. It doesn't have to weave into an intricate plot-line, in fact I would enjoy reading a mundane story that is just someone telling random events just so long as it was interesting.

No one seems to know that story by Kenneth Oppel called Airborn.
I love that book.
I was just on EQD, and saw a post about a story involving pirates and ponies. I thought to myself: If that's so well recieved, then Airborn may also be great. Its a great story about pirates, airships, and just lovely all around. I'm not an experienced writer, so I don't know how to fill up a blog post. sorry :p
