Thoughts on Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) · 12:32am Dec 20th, 2023

Chunks of this are taken from a write-up I first did of this movie back in 2018, but there ARE still some new observations inserted along the way as well.

(Rewatched November 2nd, 2023.)

Watched this one with my parents Still holds up in my eyes.

Thoughts on The Fugitive (1993) · 7:20pm Dec 19th, 2023

(First watched September 16th, 2023.)

Watched this with my dad as well. Very good movie. I've never seen the original TV show "The Fugitive" but I know the basic elements - doctor on the run for a crime he didn't commit, trying to find the one-armed man, and being hunted by a determined officer of the law.

Thoughts on Reservoir Dogs (1991) · 6:48pm Dec 19th, 2023

(First watched September 7th, 2023.)

Watched this with my dad as I was curious to finally see what the fuss was about.

I am mostly familiar with Quentin Tarantino through osmosis. I've seen Pulp Fiction (which I liked) and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (which I also liked, but have heard is atypical for his usual output).

Thoughts on The Terminator (1984) · 5:52am Dec 19th, 2023

I've watched this one previously, but still, it'd been a number of years since that first viewing.

(Rewatched August 14th, 2023.)

Still every bit as good as I remember it being from the first time.

It's hard to really say anything "new" with regard to the original Terminator. What can I say that other critics or other writers haven't?

Thoughts on Taxi Driver (1976) · 4:56am Dec 19th, 2023

Next on the train of movie write-ups... one of many controversial films by Martin Scorsese. "Taxi Driver."

(First watched July 26th, 2023.)

A friend of mine utterly hated this film. Having finally seen it for myself, I honestly kind of wonder if he and I watched the same movie.

Thoughts on Dirty Harry (1971) · 2:03am Dec 19th, 2023

All right. First up on the final batch of movie reviews for the year... the original "Dirty Harry."

(First watched July 7th, 2023.)

I'm glad to have seen this one, though I wouldn't say that I loved it. Liked it well enough, sure, and glad to have finally gotten context on it, but I didn't love it.

Idle Question · 5:23pm Dec 18th, 2023

So, just a thought I've had bouncing around my head as we come to the end of 2023. As you all know, I love movies, and have written up my thoughts on them and posted them here before.

There's some I watched over the course of 2023 that I didn't post about here, and was wondering if anybody would be interested in reading what words I had to offer on them.

It's a list that includes:
- Taxi Driver (1976)
- Dirty Harry (1971)
- The Terminator (1984)

Thoughts on Godzilla Minus One · 6:36pm Dec 12th, 2023

Wow. I had heard the praise for this movie, but having seen it for myself, yes, this really is one of those rare occasions where the movie in question does live up to its hype.

Blade Video Game · 8:09pm Dec 8th, 2023

Another surprise from last night's video game news. We're getting a video game for Blade, the vampire hunter of the Marvel Universe.

From the same studio who gave us "Dishonored" and "Deathloop". I'd like to think that this means the Daywalker is in good hands.

New Jurassic Park Game?! · 2:35am Dec 8th, 2023

Well now. This is a bit of news that I never would have expected. Not in 65 million years, that's for sure.

But it's a pleasant surprise for now, all the same. I never would have expected a new game based around the Jurassic Park era/brand - not Jurassic World, Jurassic Park - and a survival horror / adventure game at that as well? :pinkiegasp:

Wow. :yay:

Please, please, PLEASE be good...
