The mysterious Crystal Ponies of the Crystal Empire have never been fully expanded upon. It is disputed between many fans whither they are a sub set of the Earth Pony Tribe or that they are entirely their own tribe. Apart from their crystal sheen and hexagonal irises, the crystal ponies share the same basic anatomy with the Earth Ponies. I’m unsure if they also share their strength, but I would assume the Crystal Ponies to have a set of unique traits entirely their own.

Unicorn Tribe

The unicorn tribe has a monarchical based system of government, which, at the time of the hearths warming eve story, was lead by Princess Platinum. Since Princess Platinum is the only known leader of the Unicorns at this time, I am given to understand that the Unicorn tribe forms a principality rather than a kingdom. It is also likely that, along with the princess, there was a hierarchy of noble families each vying for power.

Long before the rule of the two sisters, and the founding of Equestria, the three pony tribes of Equis engaged in bitter struggles against each other, aiming for total domination. Such brutal hostility towards one another would have given rise to varying forms of military technology and tactics, unique to each tribe.
