I just had a thought last season finale grabbed our attention with the action of an invasion here I think they are going for a different approach, think about it by making twilight an alicorn even if its only for for one episode it made half the fandom go crazy (seriously this got more attention then Discords release and Trixie's return did), what better way to draw in attention and viewers then let the fan's do it themselves with all kinds of speculation and guessing.
