I've realized lately that for me, writing is a release first and foremost. At this time, I write primarily to relieve stress I don't have any other outlet for, which is why I have difficulty finishing stories. Each of my stories right now is written because of something I'm feeling in the moment, and when the moment passes, it's hard to muster any enthusiasm for them, especially when I have another feeling inspiring a different story entirely.

I wound up with three ideas for fics, but only one of those - a crossover with Dota 2 - is actually being worked on. I've got a good three thousand words on it, but I'm starting to hit a block.

Could anyone recommend a pre-reader or editor or something? I really think I need someone who I can talk to about it, if only so I can be a little more confident that I'm communicating things effectively.

A few days ago, I ended up buying a few assorted odds and ends that looked interesting. One of the things I found was the album Black Widow by the band In This Moment, and their vocalist is absolutely fantastic. She puts so much emotion into her voice; it's honestly mesmerizing.
