Nearing the end and we have Luna versus Kis. What's funny is these are very nerfed versions of the Sister's. They're actually weaker here than other cycles, but I guess Kis is like a millionth of her power so it makes some sense.

(Sorry I grew up a Dragonball Z kid, so huge reality breaking levels of power come standard for me lol.)

True Tia and Luna will show up in my next big story, but it's not action or adventure so their strength won't play a huge factor there.

I felt this chapter was needed to hopefully redeem Twilight a little bit at least, I mean she has killed a lot of creatures. Or maybe that's not what matters...

Luna fights help me elevate her more and more. This is what her 3rd? Uhhh she fought Twilight, Spike, yeah I think this is her 3rd. My head canon of Luna can 1v1 pretty much anyone on honorable terms. The Princess of the Night deserves it and more.

Kis is so fun. I really enjoy her chaotic nature. She's pretty cliche but I think she comes into her own.

So we finally get to the confrontation between the Immortal Sisters and Twilight, but first we get to see the aftermath of the events from Luna's perspective. Needless to say she doesn't take it particularly well.

We also get a little more RG. Again I had fun with that. They seem like a fun bunch.

Luna being afraid isn't something new, but it is for a fight. My Luna longs for that crap lol.

So here we have Cadance trying to deal with her grief. To be honest I've never really had to. Even when my mom died I kind of just... accepted it. It was a strange time.

When I was younger I thought I wouldn't be able to live without my mom. It's a wierd feeling to be sure, but I think the reverse would be way more painful. Parents dying is kind of just normal y'know I mean eventually, but a child dying is... sucky.

I really struggled writing this chapter. I still can't read it without crying. I considered other avenues for this chapter but I think I went with the most effective.

I had a lot of fun with the first half but that was wholly intentional. Put the reader in a happy fun mindset before.. a big shift in tone.

I like writing for Luna the most. (Big surprise there, huh?) I REALLY like writing her as the sympathetic character I feel she is. This chapter she showed her softer side after the brutality of last chapter and I think it suits her well.

Twilight is obviously at a turning point here and she's gonna have to make some tough choices coming up.

Flurry meanwhile is just trying to hold the family she has together. I feel bad for her the most.

So I think this chapter really shows the differences between Luna and Celestia and how Luna feels ashamed about some of the stuff she feels she's forced to do. While it could be argued that her methods were drastic, they did accomplish the objective. And the fact that Luna refuses to tell Celestia what she did shows she too does not want her sister to know what she's capable of.

What a fun chapter to write. I got to throw in some background ponies and I got to do some of the mane 6 which is always fun. But the real highlight for me was making Luna look brutal. I love expanding on my own canon for her cause I really feel like she's got so much potential. I guess that's why she's my favorite, because while the showrunners explored even Celestia somewhat, Luna was pushed to the side so much that she has the most open lore. Hopefully I didn't make her too...distasteful
