First, I got the idea for this story from a line in my "Alicorns and Beards" story, where Starlight Glimmer asked my human OC "what could go wrong?" and he responded by saying things will go wrong now. That was partly meant to show he had some self-awareness. But later I got the idea to make that its own story, but have the canon character know it's bad luck to say that, and panic over it being said.
