The fifth and final chapter to A Mad Pony in a Box is now nearing five thousand words. The chunk that I was working on for it today, alas, is not yet complete, but I'm hoping that I'll find time for that come Saturday.

I have to admit though, it feels pretty good having it almost finished. I do wish that I was finishing it sooner, but them's the breaks.

Work is kicking my butt hard right now. I've just endured the third of five eight hour days (and this one turned out a little longer due to inconvenient circumstances), and still have two to go before I have myself a day off. Fingers are tightly crossed that day will see some work done on A Mad Pony in a Box.

No progress on the writing today. Dental appointment and clearing out backlog took up most of the day, so no writing is done beyond some tiny edits to what will be Chapter Five. I know what all I want to include in it, however, so once I have the time and the ability, odds are I'll get more done.

Fingers crossed for Thursday.

And as the month ends, I'm about two thousand words into the fifth and final chapter for A Mad Pony in a Box. If I'm lucky, if I'm really lucky, I'll have the whole thing done within the next few weeks and be ready to get it up and online on either January 1st or January 5th.

Whether I'll make it or not is, of course, still up for debate, but we'll see.

For the record, a grocery store is one of the worst places to work in the leadup to Thanksgiving. Last year wasn't so bad, but this year? This year was crazier than I'd like, and hopefully my one day left this week won't be like the other four and involve me having to work late or worry about missing a Lyft home...or both. As it is, I've already had to pay a fine because I had to cancel a pickup. The paycheck next week is barely going to make things worth it.

Chapter Four for A Mad Pony in a Box is currently coming in at just under 6,500 words, and Chapter Three will, barring a case of bad luck, be going out this Saturday.

Given the craziness I've had to deal with in the last week, this is a welcome thing to report on. Chapter Four should be ready by Christmas, and Chapter Five will hopefully be written before the end of next month.

Chapter Four of A Mad Pony in a Box is currently sitting at exactly 5,701 words. Two more chunks have yet to be written for it, but I'm cautiously optimistic that one will be done before the end of this week and the other before the end of next, with the whole thing done by the end of this month.

Regardless, I'm going to go ahead and announce a release date for Chapter Four - Christmas Day. I hope you'll understand if I opt against doing a Christmas teaser in light of this decision.

The next Q&A segment is due this Friday, and I hope to have it up with little trouble.

As of today, work has officially begun on Chapter Four for A Mad Pony in a Box. I'm currently just a hair over fourteen hundred words into it, and have just finished up a whole mess of exposition regarding the two antagonists. With luck, the rest of the chapter will get taken care of in a timely manner and be ready for release in December. Given I've cleared out all of the awkward stuff, that seems more reasonable than not at this point.

I'm pleased to report that Chapter Three for A Mad Pony in a Box is now complete. With luck, I'll start work on Chapter Four before the end of this weekend.

Expect it on November 23rd. With luck, the remaining two chapters will come in December and January...and I'll have exactly two remaining chapters.

Progress was slowed due to my day job and working on a commission (plus binge-watching My Hero Academia), but I'm pleased to say that I'm properly back at work on A Mad Pony in a Box and the third chapter is rapidly approaching completion. Got my fingers crossed that three days off each week will mean I can finish this story and get a good start on Chapter Four before too long.
