Had time to kick out about 800 or so words on Level Flight during lunch today. (Twilight figured out at least one place where the spell was going wrong.)

Yay! I completed another chapter AND...AND! I found the solutions to easily getting the Gdocs importer to format fairly cleanly.

Someone else figured out an easy way - run it though LibreOffice/OpenOffice with a bbcode converted plugin:

It still doesn't fix everything but it's a damn sight better than it was before and I don't have to fix almost every damn line.

So in case nopony is reading the comments, I went through and fixed the basic formatting on Level Flight so it's at least readable. I'm sure I need to correct spelling, punctuation, and 'accidentally a word' errors but that takes longer than I have at the moment.
