As you may have guessed, the first one will be lots of exposition, and will cover things I will continue to name/describe throughout this story.

The second chapter will be more action-oriented. Seeing as how the Mane Six finally get a crash course on what they're capable of, they should be able to dispose of the next threat rather quickly- right?

I've recently (READ: just today) started reading Robopacalypse and, HOLY SHIT IT'S FREAKY!!!
sorry about that.
Really though. If you haven't heard of it, It's a book about an extremely intelligent A.I. named Archos who takes over every machine (and there are billions of them) and decides to kill off humanity. It may sound rather... childlike (heh heh... Archos) but it's damn scary at points.
