I hate cancelling stories. I'm not doing it today, but I fear two stories are on the chopping block in the near future for reasons explained after the break.

Okay, so I am nearly finished with the newest chapter. I had originally intended it to essentially go right into what is going to be next chapter, but I decided to use this chapter as a means to kind of nod to the now-released version of the game a lot more, as well as set up the last few chapters.
...for the longest chapter since the April Fools' Special.
It's at 5k now, and I've still got quite a bit left to get through. Not too much (just a couple of scenes), but I'm still adjusting to this new keyboard. It's loud! OHMIGOSH so loud! I'm not used to keys clacking, or being as tall.
So, all the parts are in. I want to assemble and get working ASAP, but I need my brother's help and he's got graveyard shift at his job tonight, plus an irregular schedule, so I'm trying to convince him to do it now rather than later.
Soon as everything is assembled and ready, you'll get a picture comparing my set-ups and everything will resume as normal.
So while googling things to use in my latest chapter of Starbound (which will be a fairly light-hearted, comic relief chapter that still has bearing on the plot), I noticed that I'm behind by several patches.
Like, WAY behind. As in, "The last time I played was during the Koala patches, which form the basis of the writing, and we're now two into Giraffe patches" behind. A lot of things have changed.
So, I'm working on the next chapter at the moment, but since we're at the stage where Jack and Twilight will be exploring Sector Gamma, I'm not feeling terribly creative. There's not too much going on plotwise in that sector that I've planned out. The plot picks up again when they start exploring Sector Delta.
Literally, this happened a few minutes ago (must be a lull in the writing action), but I went to the front page, merely ten minutes after posting the new chapter of Starbound to find that it has been featured.
Second featured fic. Not nearly as awesome the second time around but hey, I'll take it!
Like the title says, I went and attended a meetup to watch Rainbow Rocks. No spoilers, but let's just say my Red Nocturne story I've been semi-writing, that is writing with no definite intention of posting it until I get a few chapters in, has been affected. Namely, a plot detail showed up that I couldn't pass up and that fits with where I've been taking it so far.
Hey guys, how's things?
Just wanted to give a quick update on how things are going thus far, with college in full swing. You might want to know how this is going to be affecting my writing in the future couple of months.
Well, we'll do this in organized fashion, shall we? In order of probs most important to least important.
1) Starbound
No word on why; got the form email. At least, with Apprentice, they gave me reasons to improve it, but this time, they just sent me straight to the Editor's Omnibus with no word on what it is I'm looking for. I'm thinking, however, that it's the minor gore, since EqD staff doesn't exactly like that kind of stuff, even though I gave them fair warning and explained everything.
Would like to give you guys an update on why it's taking so long to get the next chapter of Starbound out. Long story short, I'm moving out of parents' house for my final year of college; figure it'd be beneficial to get that year of supporting myself as experience. Been focusing on my job, starting up a Rent fund, that sort of stuff. Not to mention, I've been putting my attention into class this semester because last semester went badly (probably due to the distraction of writing when I
Not much to say. Been sick. Caught a vomiting, diarrhea, fever, etc. bug. Seriously put a damper on my writing ability for four days. I think in all that time I may have written 1k words total, which for me is lackluster. That's 250 a day. I'm used to averaging at least six times that.
