Just finished a pretty major exam yesterday (7.5 hours long) and I finally got some time to get back into writing. Though that might taper down severely depending on how I did on the test, won't know until like 3-4 weeks later :O

Either way, I should get a new chapter of Equestrian Elegy done sometime this month.

Uh, hypothetically speaking if both Cadance and Celestia were to hear a pretty depressing story out of earshot, but didn't want to startle a rather powerful pony into attacking, who would lose their cool the quickest to deliver an emergency hug/snuggle/nuzzle?

Writing Dumbledore is tough, especially since he always manages to find just the right words to soothe Harry when he needs it most.

Having Celestia on top of that, talk and reason with Harry is becoming kind of an issue. I'm leaning towards Celly not being able to see Dumbles, just so he can snark in the background for the comic factor.

10k words so far, so it'll be a longer chapter and I think I'm almost done writing it.

I say 'think' because I'm mulling on whether or not to add a scene in or just save it for a future Perspective and tell this part from Harry's POV.

But there may be a release this weekend, sooooo, we'll see.

After a lot of hemming and hawing, I decided to lower Discord's abilities a bit, so he's not as overwhelming as he is in canon. He'll still be #1, but he won't be as OP anymore, mainly because I don't want to deal with the hassle of working around an omnipotent character. He comes up in a flashback in the next chapter and I figured I might as well decided what to do with him now rather than later.

Mainly because I have my version of her as being still pretty guilt-ridden over Luna's fall from grace and writing about a depressed character and their thoughts doesn't exactly put a person in a good mood. Harry being in a similar headspace...well...it's not exactly sunshine and roses.

I don't know how other authors do it with regular 15-20k updates every 2 weeks.

Yeahhh, that Shining Interlude kind of spawned into something more monstrous than I intended. I'm at 8k words at the moment and am still adding more. I'll go into more detail as an author's note with the chapter (whenever it's done) but my main issue is that I forgot that I'm dealing with a younger Shining and he shouldn't be a Captain yet. So in order for me to not retcon that little bit or make Shining a helluva lot older than Twilight, I had to re-structure the entire Royal Guard to fit

I ended up constructing a Shining Armor interlude instead of the newest chapter which I plotted out. But I also think that it would be better to post the interlude AFTER this new chapter, delaying things even further~
