I've been trying all day to connect to the forum, but I kept getting connection timeout problems.

Is anyone else having the same issue?

Haven't had any luck at all even from Asia.
Maybe something is finally being done about the servers, or the worst has happened.

All we can do now is wait and see what happens.

Though in the meantime we can use this satellite of the Spacebattles Forum for discussion and such.

I'd guess with a load of people with more free time over the holidays it just buckled from stress.
We're DDOS'ing our own site

I assumed that since the lag is normally due to too many people, the holiday spike is even worse. It'll hopefully get better once people have to go back to work.

It isn't the same. SB has been completely shut off for more than 6 hours now. Unknown as to why.

Well, I meant the issue of unable to connect to the SB forums.

Though I am glad that it isn't for the same reason (hopefully). I really don't want to start expecting this sort of DMCA shenanigans happening to the forum once every few months.

EIther DMCA, or worse. No traffic at all has been outbound from SB. Not even a return ping.

Anyone else having trouble getting to the forum? It seems to be down.

Still dead here. Could this be the big upgrade (hardware or software?) that I remember being mentioned a while back?

It's back up, with the built-in search engine now available.
