I'm doing a finale of a series I started on Youtube called "Why the OC hate?" Thing I've done two of these and I feel like I have said all I need to say on the subject.

Since this subject does actually apply all around, I actually wouldn't mind opinions from this group as well as the usual.

The OC's I've seen getting the most hate are Alicorns, Recolors, and Dark/Red and Black OC's.

I would appreciate the assistance in this subject in the form of opinions.

I find a lot of the OC hate comes from, as you said, alicorns and recolors. Part of this seems to me to come from a lack of originality or from the OC being god level characters. That doesnt mean that you cant have a good alicorn OC or Recolor OC it just makes it harder for them to stand out. Other than those reasons I see hate towards OC that actually comes from the quality of the story. Its fine to have a story that focuses on OC but it typically has higher standards then a lot of other stories. I dont know why that is but it is what I've seen a lot of. Hope this helps
