  • Location: Earth; mostly the Pacific Ocean
  • Belligerents: United States of America, Taiwan, New Zealand, Samoa vs. People's Republic of China
  • Outcome: stelemate; mostly - status quo ante bellum, continuation of the Second Cold War

One of the earliest open conflicts of the Second Cold War was perhaps also its most important point; the Sino-American Two Years' War, waged primarily on the Pacific Ocean, ended in a stalemate after the deaths of approximately 25 000 soldiers on each side, thus deciding the direction of human politics and technological progress for the next century and sparking a new era of space exploration.

  • Outcome: American victory and status quo ante bellum; uprising suppressed

Lunar Rebellion/Revolt

  • Duration: 10 years
  • Location: Luna
  • Belligerents: Lunar protesters vs. United Nations
  • Outcome: UN victory and status quo ante bellum; United Nations sovereignty over the Moon retained

It is difficult to call the Lunar Rebellion/Revolt a proper armed conflict; more accurately described as a series of frequent acts of civil disobedience as well as small-scale insurgencies, it was put down after the deployment of the first ever human forces - in this case both Chinese and American - on an extraterrestrial body by the United Nations. Caused by overreliance of Lunar colonists on their respective companies of employment, the revolution's failure planted the very roots of later human mentality regarding their colonies - they were but an extension of Earth rather than their own autonomous entities. First signs of a united human dominion amongst the stars, rather than dozens of separate space-nations, appear.

Robot War

  • Duration: 18 years
  • Location: mostly - Earth (to a small degree - Mars and Luna)
  • Belligerents: Humanity vs. Rogue programs
  • Outcome: human victory, status quo ante bellum; pan-humanist wave sweeps across the Earth

First incident with man-made machines, this time with completely non-sentient programs. The Panzer Nukes (or Armoured Nukes) - nuclear missiles equipped with state-of-the-art systems aimed to get around anti-air countermeasures - are developed during this war to counter constantly improving machine defences, but aren't used in the end. Vast devastation covering much of east Asia in the aftermath of the conflict allows unified North America to soon challenge China on the world stage once more. First ever deployment of live personnel from orbital staging areas also takes place during the war, just prior to a nuclear strike on the city during the Battle of Shanghai.

Unification Wars

  • Duration: 126 years
  • Location: Sol System
  • Belligerents:

    • Originally: Unified States of North America and allies vs. Transural Republic and allies
    • Eventually: Many sides created, risen and fallen throughout the conflict
  • Outcome: eventually - human unification

A long and complicated event. Starting with the Second Bering Strait Incident, which turns the Small Cold War into an active conflict, nearly the entire Earh is soon engulfed in warfare after both the Transural Republic and the Unified States pull in their respective allies. Contemporarily known simply as the Third World War, the armed conflict would eventually conclude with a nuclear holocaust, effectively turning Earth into a watseland and cutting it off from its colonies. Over the course of the next 120 years, through a series of pacts, treaties and military campaigns - largely due to high popularity of pan-humanism among mankind and discontent with bloody interstate wars - the survivor states led by the Spared City of Paris unite Earth and the Solar System under an authoritarian regime, which is soon overthrown by the Republican Movement in the 2351 coup d'etat, thus forming the first iteration of the Republic of Sol. In the end, over two billion people perish in the conflict, but the number is very difficult to calculate due to the duration and nature of the Unification Wars.

Chirr War

  • Duration: 8 years
  • Location: Sol System
  • Belligerents: Republic of Sol vs. Chirr Colonisation Fleet
  • Outcome: human victory and status quo ante bellum; human independence retained

First human extraterrestrial contact and first ever combat against alien lifeforms. The only invasion of Earth itself in the history of the Republic takes place, and the war is waged on all major human worlds within the Sol System. In the end, the Chirr colonisation fleet - led mostly by civilian commanders and able to travel only at sublight speeds - is nearly wiped out partly due to incredible numerical disadvantage. Acting as the founding myth of the Republic, the conflict cements both the young state and human unity as a concept. Reverse-engineering Chirr cryo-tubes allows humanity to colonize deep space, which is soon done on a massive scale to give mankind the best possible shot at surviving the possible Great Filter; after all, if other sentient lifeforms exist, the odds of humanity having already passed the Filter diminish greatly.

Alpha Centauri War

  • Duration: [[Data Purged]]
  • Location: Alpha Centauri and nearby systems
  • Belligerents: Republic of Sol vs. [[Data Purged]]
  • Outcome: Republic of Sol annexes systems surrounding Alpha Centauri, human adversaries rendered nearly extinct

An ancient interstellar conflict between humanity and an alien adversary forgotten to time. Fought in the late third millennium, it eventually saw the near-extinction of the enemy of the Republic of Sol - a memory which mankind has since lived in denial of. RSNS Alexander, the first true dreadnought in the modern meaning of the term, single-handedly manages to destroy 20 alien warships before the arrival of human reinforcements during the Battle of Alpha Centauri, cementing its status as a Republican legend and de facto sealing its future fate as a museum ship.

The War of Arms

  • Duration: decades
  • Location: 'Northern' and 'Eastern' Milky Way
  • Belligerents: Republic of Sol and allies vs. Cyanosian Empire and allies
  • Outcome: reduction of Cyanosian power

An armed conflict fought as a result of a geopolitical power struggle between the relatively newly-emergent Republic of Sol and the ancient yet stagnant Cyanosian Empire. In time, both sides are joined in their struggle by numerous other states and organisations, spreading the war to nearly a fourth of the settled galactic regions. The largest and longest recorded soace battle in galactic history at that point in time - the Grey Struggle - takes place, involving tens of thousands of warships at any given time over the course of 55 years of non-stop combat. Eventually defeated in the war but spared a proper invasion, the Cyanosian Empire has its sphere of influence noticeably reduced.

The War of the Quadruple Alliance

  • Duration: [[Data Purged]]
  • Location: Great Uimdar Kingdom
  • Belligerents: Quadruple Alliance (Republic of Sol, Sarlaan Ingenious Monarchy, Cyanosian Empire, Chirr Unity) vs. Great Uimdar Kingdom
  • Outcome: Quadruple Alliance victory and economic balance change; Great Uimdar Kingdom crippled and its expansionist ambitions shattered

An armed confrontation waged primarily due to hightened tensions between the Great Uimdar Kingdom and the rest of the galaxy caused by agressive Uimdar expansionist policies undertaken in order to accomodate its rapidly growing population. Feeling threatened by a possible rise of the Uimdar, humanity and the Sarlaan Ingenious Monarchy are forced to put their differences aside and, allying the recently weakened Cyanosian Empire as well as the Republic's client state of the Chirr, wage an offensive war against the insectoid Kingdom. In the end, the Quadruple Alliance is victorious and the resulting treaties severely weaken the Uimdar economy, laying the groundwork for their transformation into the underdeveloped state they are today.

The Izfveni War

  • Duration: [[Data Purged]]
  • Location: Mloca, dimension 000-012-158b; most of the human dominion in dimension 000-007-872c "Hawking"
  • Belligerents: Republic of Sol vs. Izfveni nation-states
  • Outcome: eventually - human victory; political status quo and abandonement of Mloca; artificial extinction event of the Izfveni

A part of mankind's interdimensional expansion program, the Izfveni War serves as a brutal reminder of human imperfections. The Izfveni, a species native to the continental planet of Mloca situated in dimension 000-012-158b, fight against the Republican invaders seeking to establish a forward base of operations in the realm. A highly warlike race, the Izfveni, who treat combat as a sort of art, easily defeat the human invaders and, using reverse-engineered inter-dimensional drives, launch a counterassault into the Republic's staging ground for the invasion - dimension 000-007-872c "Hawking". Taking over three of the five settled planets there, the Izfveni push mankind onto the brink of surrender, before the Republic successfully acquires Izfveni databanks, containing their highly-advanced strategies, tactics and techniques, during the Skirmish of Lataba. Vastly superior economically and numerically, mankind is able to push the alien species back to Mloca and - hatred towards the supposedly-inferior adversary having grown large among the human soldiers over the course of the prolonged war - burns most of the planet to the ground, causing Izfveni extinction. Mloca, as well as the entire dimension, are eventually abandoned and memories of the war burined deep within humanity's vast archives.

Robot Revolt on Oubrak VI

  • Duration: [[Data Purged]]
  • Location: Oubrak VI
  • Belligerents: Republic of Sol vs. AI rebels and scarce allies
  • Outcome: Republican victory, status quo retained; AI restrictions imposed

Taking place in the middle of the 6th millennium, this second incident with man-made machines, this time with sentient AIs, leads to the introduction of massive failsafes in AI technology, as well as the introduction of Restriction Programs and Protocols. Sparked mostly by vastly unequal treatment of the Republic's AI residents compared to natural-born organics, the event is widely misinterpreted as an attempt to overthrow human rule completely, partially due to widespread teachings of the 22nd century's Robot War. Eventually defeated through large-scale orbital bombardment of Oubrak VI and after the deaths of 500 million humans, the revolt results in thorough reforms of the armed forces in the Republic, which purges most artificial intelligences - who constitute the bulk of the army - from service.

Sarak War

  • Duration: <1 year
  • Location: Sarak system
  • Belligerents: Republic of Sol vs. Sarlaan Ingenious Monarchy
  • Outcome: Sarlaan victory; system control switch from the Republic of Sol to the Sarlaan Ingenious Monarchy

A border war between the Republic of Sol and the Sarlaan Ingenious Monarchy fought over the control of the disputed Sarak system. Claimed by the Monarchy but under human control prior to the war, the system's ownership had been one of the sparks igniting the third cold war between the two powers known as the Third Frictions. Noticing the Oubrak VI Revolt and its fallout, a surprise offensive by the Ingenious Monarchy swiftly gains control of Sarak with overwhelming force, forcing the humans, whose armed forces had only just moved to mostly organic composition, to negotiate; the only way to retake Sarak at this point is an all-out war against the Monarchy, which the weakened humanity wishes to avoid.

Pacification of Kroban

  • Duration: 8 hours
  • Location: Kroban
  • Belligerents: Republic of Sol vs. Nation-states of Kroban
  • Outcome: Republican victory; planetary annexation by the Republic of Sol

Swarm War

  • Duration: [[Ongoing]]
  • Location: Milky Way
  • Belligerents: Galactic Coalition vs. the Swarm
  • Outcome: [[Ongoing]]

A thoroughly devastating conflict against the mysterious "Enemy who Swarmed the Galaxy". The desperate defense staged by the galactic powers leads to the eventual, gradual formation of the Galactic Coalition with the intent of defeating the Swarm.

Nice update to the lore.
