The Hercules is a mega starship proposed by the Republic of Sol, never actually brought into construction. Planned to be circular with a radius of one astronomical unit, the Hercules would serve as an ark to carry the remnants of the hyper-militarised galaxy into Andromeda in the event of total and complete collapse of the frontlines against the Swarm. With entire ecosystems and populations existing solely onbaord, the craft was projected to be able to subjugate entire stellar clusters all on its own, with the aid of the inexhaustible armadas it would carry onboard and its capabilities to replenish any potential losses with many facilities specialised to both harvest resources and construct vessels. Vast cloning complexes onboard would also be able to ensure a sufficient number of available manpower wherever it would be needed.

Projected as the last resort in Milky Way's fight against the Swarm, the Hercules would however require vast resources to actually construct, ones desperately needed on the frontlines and possibly unavailable in the event of their total collapse. Scrapped near the end of the Swarm War for that very reason, the Hercules would remain but a failed concept for millennia.
