2180 AD - The yoyo effect threatening pan-humanism is averted by the common threat for all mankind during the Robot War, and the outlooks's support is at an all-time high. This, coupled with great devastation caused by the conflict in parts of the globe, results in significant changes in the political landscape. The United States unite with Canada and, later, Mexico to form the Unified States (as in "countries") of North America. Higher GDP and the fact that the eastern hemisphere (including China) was far harder hit by the Machines allows the country to regain its place as a superpower. Russia, also greatly devastated, has its government overthrown multiple times until it eventually united with many other unstable Central Asian, Caucasian and Eastern European countries forming the Transural Republic.
2181 AD - Reunification of Korea; after over two centuries, wrecked by the Robot War, the penninsula unifies under a liberal government.
2191 AD - Research outpost established on the Jovian moon of Europa.
2193 AD - Research outpost established on the Jovian moon of Io.
2195 AD - The violent Bering Sea Incident causes the relations between the Transural Republic and the USNA to deteriorate rapidly, in light of various conflicts of interests, mainly concerning the Arctic and the Great Asteroid Belt. All this combined causes the two countries to maintain tensions. It is often cited as the beginning of the so-called Small Cold War.
A significant rise of support for pan-humanism occurs.
2210 AD - Lunar population reaches 750,000.
2213 AD - The birth of space piracy; what is often considered the first ever pirate attack in space occures against an American freighter carrying supplies to one of their Martian colonies. Extensive operations to combat piracy ensue.
2215 AD - Martian population reaches 550,000. The UN expresses content with the progress of global denuclearisation. The only nations possessing nuclear missiles are the Transural Republic, the Unified States of North America, China, Israel and the United Kingdom. Things are looking bright for the world.
