My work keeps me pretty busy but its nice to come home and unwind with some Appledashery!

I'm one of those that usually only starts reading a story when it's finished, so after I finished reading a wonderful Applejack story with some light Apple/Dash called The Irony of Applejack, I just had to get me some more Apple/Dash with a sprinkle of world-building and Skirts giveth both aplenty with Eastward movements or otherwise.

How about you fine folks? What made you pickup and start reading one of Skirt's infamously long epics?

I came across Appledashery almost entirely by chance. At that point, I was still a very new MLP fan, so I didn't know of the existence of FIMfiction and was sorely disappointed to find a measly 10-ish works under Appledash on Ao3. Otherwise, it was mostly porn without plot. So I assumed there simply didn't exist much good-quality MLP fanfiction.

Then one day, I was just scrolling on Appledash tumblr accounts until I found someone saying something along the lines of, "I'm so bored I could reread Appledashery" so I decided to check this out. That turned out to be quite the jackpot.

I have The Irony of Applejack in my Read Later; I've even read a few chapters. But I haven't gotten around to continuing it, as I'm still grinding though Austraeoh. Until that is finished, I likely won't start another long story anytime soon

At some point last year I took it upon myself to read every single completed Appledash story on this site. I don’t know if I’ll ever achieve that, but that’s not the point here.

So in my quest, I stumbled upon Appldashery, and I was immediately intimidated by its length. I started the grind at some point in July, and slowly but surely I’ve been working my way through the story.

(This feels like an Anonymous Alcoholics meeting lol) I found Appledashery about a year and a half ago on FanficsRecs page of MLP:FIM on TVtropes. Because of English being not my native language(I am Russian), I only managed to finish it approximately a month ago. A week ago I started reading Austraeoh(don't spoil please), very interesting so far!

Oooh, really impressive that you could finish a story of that length even though English isn't your first language seriously, it must've taken a lot of grit. Austraeoh is just as snazzy and also a super duper even longer ride, best of luck with that

Sometimes when I look at a story that's been going for a long time, I notice "the poster". You've probably seen it too, that one reader that seems to have an endless stream of comments on a story, drowning out all the rest in a flood of posts.

I never really thought about why it happens and always just rolled my eyes at their overblown enthusiasm...

Until I realized with Appledashery, now I'm the poster!

I understand now that its simply the mechanics of how comments appear on the main page of a story and I happen to be the only one reading and commenting at the moment on Appledashery.. Still though it makes me feel, weird? Like I'm being Stu-ish? I dunno...

How do you horse readers feel about prodigious pony (comment) posting when you come across a story?

I think that is a sign of NOBLE DEVOTION! TREMENDOUS DEDICATION! EMOTIONAL SLAVERY TO HORSE WORDS! a reader enjoying the story and thus being immersed enough to take the time to interact with it. It also helps a member-hunting group admin like me to find people interested in a particular fanfic I'm really superduper glad there are still posters like yourself on Appledashery in this day and age!

Well that was quite a journey for me, and a rough one at that. Don't get me wrong, the story was fantastic. I just... really enjoy the version of Rainbow Skirt's has created across his multiverse (Dashieverse), and so it hurt to see her stumble so much and hate herself so completely.

And yet the fact it left such an impact on me is further testament to the writing quality.
