Hey Jeb, if I can suggest something for the Battle Nexus fic, is it possible for Shine Boy and Night Shine to make an appearance in it? Nothing big, just a couple small appearances. Like Shine Boy shares a couple words with Leo and Twilight at open ceremony, saying his reason to joining the tournament was because it was suggested by Zion, his teacher, and Night Shine's reason was for a chance to fight. The two end up facing each other in the first round and the fight ends in a draw after being intense. The two would spend most of the fic recovering in the recovery room only to help grab people in the final confrontation.

If this works, great. if not, it was just a thought I'd share.
