That's right, folks. It will actually happen.

Filmmaker Barry Jenkins is planning to make a computer-animated prequel to The Lion King (2019), telling the story of how Mufasa and Scar grew up together during their childhood... how it all started. The film will feature Aaron Pierre as young Mufasa and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as young Scar.

I have mixed feelings on this honestly. While I am very happy this story is actually original, I am not comfortable with the fact this will be fully CGI. But hey, I'm sure it will be much better than the lifeless remake. We'll just have to wait and see.

What do you guys think about this?

I’m hoping the Disney Chronicles will add that when it’s released.

If that's the case, then this prequel should've been the remake of The Lion King, not an exact copy of the original source material.
