Spoilers for season 6 premiere.

So, in the beginning, Spike shows a pot/urn that has two alicorn princesses from the Crystal Empire on it. This shows Celestia, Luna and Cadance weren't the first alicorns in Equestria. On a side note, there's no male alicorn as well. It stated that alicorn must earn their wings doing something princess worthy. Also wings, does this mean only unicorns can ascend to alicorns. Celestia even says there has never has been an alicorn born. So Celestia and Luna were unicorns or brought in when the world was created?

There's a lot to take in there. So I ask why was Furry Heart born an alicorn? Can there be more? Can they be male? Are they only unicorns to start out with? What happened to the others?
