Just as it says, I'm looking to see how to fit Lord of the Rings into a pony world.
So perhaps.... Hobbits should be Earth ponies. Humans are Zebras. Elves, I like Flutter ponies for this. Orcs should be Diamond Dogs. Wizards are Unicorns.
I need help for the rest. Also I'm thinking all possessors of Rings, should be granted Alicorn status regardless of original race.
3053352 To aid you with this head-canon of yours, Timber Wolves are Ents, Donkeys are Dwarves, Minotaurs are Trolls, and all the Wraiths are Changelings!
My own head-canon for this (based on books, not films), however, is:
Human-types: Shetland Ponies: Hobbits Ponies: Men Mearas (a horse breed in Middle Earth): Elves Tarpans: Orcs Draft Horses: Olog-Hai Shires: Giants What appear to be elderly ponies, but are so much more...: Istari (Wizards) Ghostly equines: Wraiths
Non-human types: Donkeys: Dwarves Timber Dogs (creature I made up): Ents Timber Wolves: Huorns Minotaurs: Trolls Dragons: Dragons (duh!)
