PERTAINING TO ARTISTS

All Artists can set up a personal thread to show off their work in addition to their Artist List post.

1 Artist List Post + 1 Thread per Artist MAX

We recommend you do both, and add a link to your thread in your Artist List post.

Artists are allowed to post as many cover candidates as they wish in a cover-seeking thread, but a cover-seeker may limit the amount of art that can be posted in their story's thread. Artists post their work in these threads understanding that once they are posted, the author of the story is free to use the art as their story's cover as long as due credit is given.

All artists are encouraged to look at stories added to the "Stories that need covers" folder. Artists may then PM the authors to offer them their services.

PERTAINING TO COVER-SEEKERS

Give credit in your story's long description to whoever provided the art you use (Use their FIM username). Additional links (Eg. To Forum Thread, Deviantart, Website) are optionable, but it is courteous to include a link to their work.

For cover-seekers who don't have a cover, whether or not it has been published, you can make a thread for your story before you publish it. Include the Title [Or at the very least a tentative title] and a short, but detailed description of the cover you're looking for. You may specify a limit to how many potential covers can be posted by each user. You may use any of the art posted for your cover. If your story has been published without a cover, add the story to the group under "Stories that need covers". Most works posted in these threads will be pretty simple, so you may want to use them just as temporary covers until you get the cover you want. You still need to give credit, though! Please close your thread once you've decided on a cover.

If your story has been published with a cover, but you want a better one, add your story to the group under "Stories that need covers". You may also request covers on an Artist's forum thread. Stories looking for covers that already have temp covers are not to be given their own threads like coverless or unpublished stories.

Once you have the cover you want, move your story into the "Stories that got covers through us" thread. If you ever feel unsatisfied with the cover (Maybe you thought that Temp Cover would do you well, but changed your mind) feel free to move it back to the "Stories that need covers" folder.

ABOUT TITLES

You don't need to have your story's title on your cover, but keep these things in mind:

1. It's very easy to reuse covers that don't have titles on them for other stories
2. A title makes your cover look more like an actual cover.
