It features ponies acting sensibly, a world which is bigger than Equestria, a complicated politicate climate, a good explanation of magic, and a few other things.

The overarching themes are: The importance of forethought, the power of intellect, the dangers of reality, the falibilities of ponies, and the exploratory tone of good science fiction.
