I'm sure you remember Simple Ways, the episode where Trenderhoof fell for AJ? After some thinking, I realized that It paints a realistic picture of the dynamic they tried to push with Twi and Flash. Trenderhoof immediately falls for Applejack simply because he thinks she's sexy and keeps bugging her and condescendingly praising her for stuff like her 'earth pony work ethic'. Applejack has no idea who he is and becomes more and more annoyed that he keeps hounding her when she's trying to work and that Rarity tries to become a farmer to impress him. Then at the end, when he decides to drop everything and move to Ponyville, Rarity tells him he shouldn't completely change himself for another person (as well as implying Applejack isn't interested) and he gets the message. You guys understand what I'm getting at?
