Rather quiet in this group. Former diver meself. Used to dive for abalone all the time. Couldn't tell how many times I've played with harbor seals, wandered tidal pools, shoot I've even pet wild leopard sharks in the California kelp forests.

Anybody else dive, or play in the sea?

On that note, I'd like some feedback on a fic idea. Does anyone remember the 2006 NBC TV Series Surface? It only went for 1 season before it was canceled. What I'm thinking is, take one of the creatures from the show, and make them sapient. Only it turns out he's probably the last of his kind(I like to refer to them as Leviathan), as his kind were hunted to near extinction. It'll basically be a journey of him exploring what and who he is. Dealing with obsessive biologists, prejudice against what is considered to be a "monster", yadda yadda.
