Hello, and welcome. Today we're tackling the Bone Head himself, Ghost Rider.

Since there have been MANY Ghost Riders, this particular entry will not so much be about any singular Rider as much as the entire concept OF a Ghost Rider. As always, this is 100% my take on how I would introduce Ghost Rider, be it in a comic book reboot, an alternate reality version, or cartoon, or video game. Just an alternate take that I think has a lot of potential. That being said, let's get started.

Firstly, the Ghost Rider entity is not demonic by any means in this version. Still a Spirit of Vengeance, but unlike other versions the power is not from hell.... But from Death. The Ghost Rider is an agent of Death, created when someone strikes a bargain with Death so to speak. They may continue to live.... But for a price. They must become the Ghost Rider, to do Death's bidding which is usually to seek out and claim those that have evaded Death's embrace for too long. Criminals who use human shields to deflect bullets, dark wizards who sacrifice others to become immortal,

"He was there from the beginning. A power that exists at the end of all things. He walked the gods and shaped the world's deepest beliefs. An executioner at the gallows. A lone rider hunter. A soldier on a battlefield. A criminal in the shadows. Fields become burial grounds in its wake. Every great atrocity and every feeble passing, the Rider stands witness. In our strife, our revolutions, and in our wars, he has left his mark. And in the end, his will be the last face you will ever see......"

The Rider's main function however is to take vengeance for restless spirits who cannot move on, to carry out the vengeance they need so they can rest in peace. As far as the basic design, as you can tell by the above picture? The biggest thing is the fire is blue. Why blue? Aside from burning hotter, blue fire has that mystical, ethereal, and downright more ghostly effect.

The Ghost Rider's basic powers are largely the same, but the biggest difference is that they have the power to summon ghosts. However the difference is that they are always ghosts of the ones that the Rider's prey has a personal vendetta against. Aside from the charge of bringing vengeance, the Rider also aids spirits who are recently deceased but have no need for vengeance, allowing them to pass on. They also forcibly change at night or in the presence of evil as their duty demands they stomp it out to give whatever dead souls are on the person's hands vengeance.

So not too much different, but basically adding a little different take while still keeping the basics.

4751667 Doesn't this origin sort of make Ghost Rider 'Spectre-Lite'?

4751686 Not really. The Spectre is an angel, Ghost Rider is usually demonically powered, this is a straight up neutral Rider. Neither good nor evil.

4751667 Wait, but who does Death work for?

Death has to answer to someone, since, if the rest of the Marvel 'verse is the same, then there is a Heaven and a Hell, so therefore, Death has to be working for someone in some capacity, unless he is deciding who goes to Hell and who goes to Heaven, which would be God's domain (ie the One Above All mentioned every so often)

4751903 Death in Marvel works on her own terms, for the good of the universe by making sure beings die when they're meant to.

4751667 interesting take on the rider
or should we call him the reaper ?
Ghost-Reaper ?
i guess you can add demonic spirits, to his main ennemies too: those dead spirits who tries to come back to life by stealing a human's soul and body.
