Hey there. Just sharing an idea that has been bouncing around in my head for a fair amount of time, even though I lack the time and energy to write it myself.

Anyway, in this universe, Clark Kent opted to become a police officer instead of a reporter (going for an occupation where fighting crime and saving lives was all part of the job anyway). Clark doesn't bother with a secret identity ("Superman" being simply a nickname his fellow police officers give him) because his parents live in Kansas and he hasn't ticked off any Kansas criminals enough for them to go after his parents (as he didn't become a cop until AFTER he moved to Metropolis) and all of his friends are already in law enforcement (meaning keeping his identity secret wouldn't be protecting anybody anyway).

Similarly, with a few exceptions (such as Patrick "Eel" O'Brien/Plastic Man, who was a reformed criminal, Princess Diana of Themyscira and King Orin/Arthur Curry of Atlantis, who are both in charge of their own militaries, Billy Batson/Captain Marvel and his adopted siblings, who would be too young to enroll in the police academy in their civilian identities and the assorted Green Lantern Corps members, who are already cosmic scale police officers anyway) almost all the super-powered beings have officially joined the police forces of their respective hometowns and openly use their powers in their crime-fighting and life-saving.

Meaning, with the exceptions of Plastic Man, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Marvel Family and the Green Lanterns, all of the costumed adventurers (such as the Bat-Family and Team Arrow) are of the NON-super-powered variety.

Similarly, the super-powered police officers help provide additional training and better equipment for their fellow officers in their respective cities so they CAN handle super-villains, giant monsters and alien invasions on their own. Meaning that, for the most part, most of the police forces are competent enough to handle things without the help of masked vigilantes. As stronger honest leaders in the higher up offices (such as the mayor's office, the police commissioners and the district attorneys), a greater crackdown on corruption and a better trained and equipped police force are usually the best crime deterrents.

It also provides an in-universe complete justification for the TV Trope Superman Stays Out of Gotham in that most of the super-powered cops' jurisdictions begin and end in their respective cities (with the obvious exceptions of the Green Lanterns, whose jurisdictions extend toward several planets and even THEY are usually too busy with the stuff on other worlds to help out the Gotham City and Star City costumed adventurers with THEIR cases). As well as (usually) completely averting The Police Are Useless (for reasons I already mentioned given the upgrade in law enforcement competence in this universe).

And anybody who likes this idea enough to add stuff to it can go ahead to tackle it.

Those are creative ideas.

Thanks immensely for liking these.

And, as aforementioned, feel free to add some stuff to this if you wish to.
