Sounds like something very different from the movies and shows. The stuff Catherine Langford did before the movie was pretty much all archeological-type stuff on Earth. Her father and fiancee managed to open the gate once, but she was never told about that.

Not to say that different is necessarily a bad thing, but this isn't going to be adventures to alien worlds or anything like that. I'm curious what the conflict might be, since there wasn't anything like the Trust on Earth at the time.
